About Sztukmistrze

At the begining there was...

well, in this case KLANZA - Polish Association of Educators and Animators. It was during the workshops organised by this organisation where some of us - members of Sztukmistrze group - learned how to juggle a 3-ball cascade, were getting the basis of flowerstick, diabolo or spinning the plate.

Starting as a small group we didn't stop to master our skills by regular training sessions at the 29th Primary School in Lublin and then at the Pracownia Sztuk Fizycznych. New people were joining us and with time an informal group 'Sztukmistrze' was created - the name of the group comes from a famous book 'Sztukmistrz z Lublina' by Isaac Bashevis Singer.

Our group is very diversed. Students constitutes the majority of it, but there are also poeple from high school or those who are already working. We deal with many different kinds of stuff: juggling with balls, clubs, contact juggling, group juggling, poi, staff, levistick, flowerstick, fireshow etc. We are open for everything new - anybody can join our meeting to learn something or simply, to practice.

At the moment we practice at the 6th Primary School in Lublin. Apart from this we run workshops for different gorups, we perform, take part in international projects and co-operate with Lublin's academic society and other institutions (such as KLANZA which provides us with a training spot). Currently we are in the make of the third edition of Sztukmistrze Festival (the last two were held in 2008 and 2009) which is, this year, called 'Crnaval Sztuk-Mistrzow' as well as the European Juggling Convention which is going to be held in Lublin in 2012!
